FAQ

Straight answers to the questions we actually get

Does Travel404 charge commission on bookings?

No. You pay a flat monthly plan that scales with your guest capacity — a private room counts as 2 guest spots, a dorm bed as 1, and the full ladder is public. Bookings through your own booking engine are 0% commission, and we add no per-booking or per-bed fees on OTA reservations either. (OTAs still charge their own commission on their bookings — that's between you and them, and here's how to pay them less.)

Is there a free plan or trial?

Both. There's a free tier to start on, and paid plans come with a 14-day free trial with full access — no credit card required. You can create your property yourself in about a minute and poke at everything before ever talking to us.

Which booking channels does it connect to?

Booking.com, Hostelworld, Airbnb, Expedia and 200+ more through the Channex network — plus your own commission-free booking engine. Availability, rates and restrictions sync in real time everywhere. New to channel managers? Plain-language explainer here.

Does it really handle dorms and individual beds?

Yes — it's the core of the system, not a bolted-on mode. One calendar row per bed. Dorms priced per bed, privates per room, side by side. Group bookings spanning multiple beds and rooms as one reservation. Overbooking detection at bed level, flagged on the calendar the moment it happens. Why this matters more than it sounds.

Can I switch from my current PMS without losing bookings?

Yes. We import your reservations, guests and rooms, and cut over channel connections at a hard date so nothing arrives twice. We've done this migration for our own three properties — duplicate imports are the classic trap, so reconciling the overlap is a deliberate step in our process, not something you discover later.

What's the guest community app?

A guest-facing app wired into your booking system: verified guests see who else is staying during their dates, join your activities, check their own booking, and connect with travelers they meet. Included with the platform; no other PMS has it. The story of why we built it.

Does it work on phones?

The whole platform runs in any browser, plus native apps on the App Store and Google Play — for your team and for your guests.

What languages does it support?

English and Spanish across everything — host dashboard, guest app, booking engine. Our teams in Mexico work in both daily, so the Spanish is lived-in, not machine-translated.

Who answers support questions?

People who run hostels, including the founder. Demos and support come from the team operating three properties on this exact software — you get answers from experience, not a script.
