Common questions
What happens to nights a guest already paid for when they extend?
If the extension earns a better tier, Travel404 scales those existing nights down by the tier ratio — the guest never pays more for a night they already agreed to, and often ends up paying less because their stay grew.
What if the new tier is worse, or today's rate is higher?
Existing nights are never touched. A worse tier or a higher current rate only ever applies to the nights being added.
Can different room types carry different tiers?
Yes — scope a tier to one accommodation type, or leave it unscoped so it applies across the whole property.
Does this work the same on direct and OTA bookings?
For direct bookings on a rate plan, yes — booking engine, PMS and extensions all run the same tier logic. An OTA booking that arrived without one of your rate plans extends at the price it already has, because there is no tier to move it to.
